The Asylum has yet to officially release any materials for their its first ever theatrical release, the supernatural horror slasher entitled #HoldYourBreath, but a photo of the artwork just appeared out of thin air on Facebook.

My question from looking at it is: “How is Katrina Bowden supposed to hold her breath with that hand in her mouth?

#HoldYourBreath – that is the actual title, thus making it quite possibly the first film in the history of cinema in which the title also doubles for the marketing strategy – stars Katrina Bowden of “30 Rock” and Piranha 3DD and Randy Wayne of “The Lying Game” in this frightful tale of a carload of college kids terrorized by the body-jumping spirit of an executed serial killer after they fail to abide by an old wives’ tale that strongly suggests one hold their breath when passing a cemetery lest you risk allowing an evil spirit to enter you.

Jared Cohn directs the Geoff Meed scripted fright flick due for a limited theatrical release this October.

If that’s not enough for you, The Asylum has announced two more genre offerings due out before year’s end:

40 Days and 40 Nights casts Jason vs. Freddy’s Monica Keena as a brilliant microbiologist… Hey, why are you laughing? Stop that. Keena as a microbiologist is far more believable than Denise Richards as a brilliant nuclear physicist in that James Bond movie.

When a colossal tectonic shift causes the sea level to start rising, a microbiologist gathers the DNA of as many species as she can, while the military creates an “ark” in a desperate attempt to preserve life on Earth.

40 Days and 40 Nights is due out on VOD/DVD/Blu-ray on November 27th.

What better way for The Asylum to finish off the year than with a mockbuster of the Christmas season’s biggest blockbuster. On December 11th prepare to be transported to the Age of the Hobbits.

In an age long ago, the last village of clever, peace-loving Hobbits is attacked and enslaved by the Java Men, komodo-worshiping, dragon-riding cannibals. Now the young Hobbit Goben, along with his father and sister, must seek help from the “giants” (human hunters) to find the Javas’ lair and rescue the last surviving Hobbits, Goben’s mother among them. In their quest to destroy the Javas, the heroic partnership of humans and Hobbits will transform both species forever.

Christopher Judge, aka Teal’c on “Stargate SG-1,” and Crank 2’s Bai Ling star. Something tells me neither of them will actually be playing Hobbits. I don’t think the world is ready for a Hobbit-sized Bai Ling.
