James Franco Spends 127 Hours with Danny Boyle
Now me? I don't want to spend 127 Hours with anyone. Why? Because I'm afraid they'd kill me! I'm quite the handful! Still, there are worse ways to pass the time and Danny Boyle's latest film explores one of the more horrific.
Variety reports that James Franco (pictured right rockin' a badass 'stache) will scale a mountain for Danny Boyle and Fox Searchlight in 127 Hours, a true-life story which centers on Aron Ralston (Franco), who spent five days with his right forearm pinned under a boulder during a climb in May 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb, then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before flagging a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter.
While certainly not what we'd call horror, that situation certainly is terrifying. And it's always good for us to keep tabs on Boyle. You never know what the guy will come up with next!
Boyle will direct the film with production to begin next year for a late 2010 release.
