Darksiders Coming to the Big Screen?

Considering the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I’m surprised that Hollywood never got around to milking the adult fantasy genre for more content. Sure, that Conan reboot has been kicking around for years, but there are plenty of untapped properties out there that would translate to the big screen rather nicely. One of those assets, Darksiders - a newly released video game for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 – is slated for a possible big screen adaptation soon. Read on to find out more!

VG247 reports that Hollywood is already knocking on Darksiders’ door, according to Vigil creative director and comic legend Joe Madureira. Madureira said that cross-media opportunities with the hellish adventure are currently being explored across a variety of formats. “We’ve gotten some interest from Hollywood, we’ve talked about doing a comic series,” said the exec.

After looking at some game footage, it seems primed to make a cool movie. Bring it on.
