Michael Biehn’s directorial debut, The Victim, is making quite a name for itself on the festival circuit, and we just got word that it’s heading to one of the biggest and best fests around: Fantasia International Film Festival, where it will screen on July 23rd in J.A. DeSeve Cinema.

As reported previously, The Victim will also be shown during the UK’s Film4 FrightFest on August 24th and 26th.

“On behalf of the entire crew of The Victim, we are both honored and thrilled that Fantasia and FrightFest have selected our film to be part of this year’s festivals,” said Biehn.

If you don’t live around either Montreal or London, don’t worry. You’ll have your chance to see The Victim when it hits Blu-ray and DVD on September 18th from Anchor Bay Films.

Synopsis:
Good time girls Annie (Jennifer Blanc) and Mary (Danielle Harris) find themselves in a life and death situation. Annie’s life is put in jeopardy when she is witness to a violent act at the hands of two Sheriff’s Deputies (Ryan Honey, Denny Kirkwood). With her pursuers closing in, she stumbles across Kyle (Michael Biehn, Terminator, Aliens, The Rock), a recluse living in the middle of the woods. A rugged loner, Kyle finds the stillness of the woods comforting. He keeps civilization at arm’s length; that is – until a single knock on his door throws his solitary life into chaos. Two worlds collide in this nerve-fraying thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very last frame.

With the Fantasia International Film Festival (official site here) running from July 19 through August 7, look for lots more announcements over the coming days.
