It seems like only yesterday Mezco unveiled its Clash of the Titans and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) offerings to the denizens of the toy kingdoms. Now NECA take center stage to show off its 7-inch action figures from both lines.
This is the first time we are hearing that NECA has Clash, and we realize it's a little anticlimactic, but it seems toy companies just don't announce things like they used to. Oh well.
This is just the first version of Perseus, so expect at least one more version. Maybe holding the head of Medusa? If we know NECA as well as we think, it's a safe bet.
Meanwhile, we've also got two versions of the Freddy Krueger 7-inch action figure based on his look in the upcoming remake. How and when these figures will be released is unknown right now.
Without further fanfare, here are the goods!

In addition, NECA recently reported to Figures.com that a classic A Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy will be on the way for the 25th anniversary. We've also got a chance at a classic Michael Myers and another stab (pun intended) at Jason since they've got the rights back. Tons more will be revealed this February at Toy Fair!

He's supposed to look like a "REAL" burn-victim! Honestly, he looks like a "REAL" severly burned Jackie Haley. And take into consideration guys that this is a TOY MODEL of the new Freddy. When was the last time you saw a toy model of a horror character that looked absolutely true to the original? And don't tell me that the Movie Maniacs toys were close cuz they weren't....they're crap.....crap. The look of the new Freddy will be justified by lighting and texture in the film.....don't judge before the finished product. Don't do it! HATERS!
F.T.W.

I got what was wrong today: the sneer.
The soul of Freddy is the sneer, that leering grin that let you know he was -always- having a great time doing his thing.
This thing seems locked in a permanent frown. Which, to me, means they'll be losing the entire point of the character, the soul.
Big worries now.

Is it just me or does Freddy look all wrong...I don't think it's just me....

It's not just you. I don't have a problem with altering the burn makeup, but it doesn't even look like Freddy. Other than that, I don't have any real problems with the new look; the sweater and the glove look just fine. Guess we'll have to wait and see in April.

It more resembles Cropsy's make-up in The Burning.
