Universal's Ouija Points to Writers
Ouija boards. We just can't understand how someone could believe that something made by Parker Bros. or Hasbro could possibly be of help in contacting the dead. But what of the real deal kind? Some say they can be quite dangerous. Universal Pictures is hoping that they can be profitable as well!
According to The Hollywood Reporter Universal has tapped Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to pen the board game-to-screen adaptation, which is being produced by Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form as well as Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir of Hasbro.
The studio is looking at the project as a supernatural action-adventure movie. It is possible that certain rules of the game — never use it alone, never use it in a graveyard, always say good-bye — figure into the plot.
Always say good-bye? Never heard that one before. Guess we're just rude. Look for more on Ouija soon.

"It's it's Halloween... It must be Saw!" is how Lionsgate has touted the latest sequels in the Saw franchise the past few years. They might need a new tagline when Saw VII in 3D comes out next year. This year, if it's Halloween... It must be Paranormal Activity. And a concert film starring a freaky looking dead guy. Not to mention Law Abiding Citizen and Couples Retreat, both of which easily outgrossed Saw VI.
