Silent Hill Sequel Official
Finally after months of hints, suggestions, and hopes, a sequel to the 2006 film Silent Hill has just been made official. And there's much rejoicing in the ash-laden streets.
THR broke the news that Roger Avary and Samuel Hadida (respectively, the screenwriter and producer of the first film) of Davis Films have officially signed on for a sequel.
No word yet on if Radha Mitchell will be returning, but she did express some interest a while back.
Davis Films aims to shoot the movie next year after Resident Evil 4, which it's now prepping. Look for more on this hopefully sooner rather than later!

If this isn't going to be an adaptation of the superlative SILENT HILL 2 game, with tons of Pyramid Head and rape I'm not interested.

They should do a different story, just like the games.
And they should REALLY nail the script before going into production.
You hear me, Avary?

I loved the first film and have been waiting anxiously in hopes of a sequel. Now it looks like it might finally happen. Best video game adaptation ever...

This is good news. I loved the first one (flaws and all). Very much looking forward to this.

Need to knuckle down and see the first one, since many said it's easily the best video game movie yet. That may be faint praise but since most video game films are total garbage, I would like to see the original.

It's definitely worth at least one look. Like other posts have said, it has it's flaws, most notably a muddled storyline and way too many moments winking at the fans of the video games that kind of rip you out of the movie. But the acting is more than adequate, it maintains a pretty creepy mood, and there's some genuinely unsettling imagery in parts.

The first movie wasn't perfect by any means, but it was never bored or infuriated me - - and PH, though he really shouldn't have been there, was awesome. So I'm in.
