Courteney Cox Dishes on Scream 4

Has it really been over nine years since Wes Craven’s Scream trilogy limped to its conclusion in a cavalcade of convoluted plot twists and poorly staged murder sequences – the result of a villain so forgettable I was sure he hadn’t been in the film prior to his unmasking? And yet, we’re getting a fourth film for some reason. Details may be a bit vague at this point, but Courteney Cox did divulge some information on what her character, Gale Weathers, has been up to since we last left her.

According to Sci-Fi Wire, Cox addressed the status of her intrepid TV reporter: “She has a kid now…She's married to Dewey." Early word is that Scream writer Kevin Williamson is using this fourth film as the jumping off point for a new series of films, and Cox had no reluctance to commit: ”I heard the idea for Scream 4, and it's fantastic.”

I’m not a huge fan of this news, but Courteney Cox was the best part of the earlier Scream movies (not to mention being easy on the eyes as well). With her involved, I’ll plunk my money down for another one; I’m just not entirely sure why.
