See Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy -- NOW!
The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived. It's time to get our first glance at the new version of Freddy Krueger, played by Jackie Earle Haley, in the Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street courtesy of Warner Bros. and MySpace.
The film, which you'll in theaters April 16, 2010, is directed by Samuel Bayer, and stars Haley, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton. Its premise centers on Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.
So there you have it. What's the verdict? Tell us below! We dig it!

The Halloween remake and Friday the 13th remake were both great! Between the new 'Nightmare on ElmStreet' and Halloween 2 coming up... It looks like these horror icons are finally being taken seriously instead of the lame characters they had been reduced to in the past. Bravo to Platinum Dunes and Rob Zombie for they're great work in horror!

I can't believe I'm reading this. Did you just say--
Wait. Wait.
Is this the introduction to the Opposite Sketches?

I'm not even a big Freddy fan anymore and I can't wait for this one. I think this is reviving my NOES interest. And it already looks better than Hoboween.

A very cool looking shot, but it looks like they're 1 for 1 with Englund's Freddy in terms of the costume. Makeup, can't tell atm. I'm surprised at the look of the shot more than anything, Samuel Bayer in my opinion isn't that great of a music video director, most of his stuff looks the same and lacks any distinctive flair. Hoping that Haley really is a great Freddy.

Well at least we know that they didn't screw with the design. Glove, hat, and sweater are all there. Obviously I'd like to see the makeup, but whatever.
Is it just me or does the glove look a bit bulkier than the old one?

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Looks like there are spokes or something connected to each finger from the wrist. Kind of an Edward Scissorhands thing. Don't see the point, myself, but whatever ... someone must've thought 'well, it looks cool ...'

Not very illuminating (no pun intended) ... and, is it me, or does he look kind of short?
Although, I'm sure he'll be the best part of this movie. Haley's fucking great.

Doesn't do anything for me.

It's a classic shot...but
It doesn't realy give's any real look at Haley or the make up design.
I'm not bitchin, Haley will be a great Freddy and him being in the flick has got me stoked...
The mind is like a parachute...it only works when it is open.
