Hodder vs Englund in the Fear Clinic

We never did get that taste of horror goodness we so desperately wanted with Freddy vs Jason (thanks for nothing, Ronny Yu). For fans it wasn't just about the characters -- it was about seeing two of our favorite genre actors/icons in one movie. Now, thanks to Robert Hall and FEARnet, our murderous DeNiro and Pacino will finally be sharing the same screen!

From The Press Release:
Welcome to your worst fears … FEARnet, the world’s premiere horror, thriller, and suspense website and on-demand service, will once again unleash terror on horror fans with Fear Clinic, a FEARnet original web series starring horror legend Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger of The Nightmare on Elm Street blockbuster franchise) as the sinister, maniacal genius Dr. Andover. His obsession: to cure humanity’s worst fears. His method: the Fear Chamber, a device of his creation that can bring any worst fear to life. With Dr. Andover’s extreme methods his unwilling patients will be cured for good…or die trying! To further whet the horror enthusiasts’ appetite for blood, acting icons from three of Hollywood’s biggest horror movie franchises will appear together. Robert Englund will be joined on screen by fellow genre megastar Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise) as well as Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie’s Halloween). The mini-series will premiere on FEARnet.com and FEARnet’s VOD channel in October as a centerpiece event of its annual Halloween scare-a-bration.

The spine-tingling action of Fear Clinic will unfold over five webisodes. Each episode will spotlight Dr. Andover’s eerily extreme methods to help a patient at the clinic conquer their greatest fears: from hydrophobia (fear of water), scotophopia (fear of the dark), and entomophobia (fear of insects), to claustrophobia (fear of small spaces) and misophobia (fear of being contained with germs or dirt). The project is directed by Robert Hall (Laid to Rest) with effects from his company Almost Human (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Quarantine, The Burrowers) from a script by Aaron R. Drane and executive produced by Mark B. Johnson and Jim Burns.

“In our commitment to creating the premiere horror, thriller and suspense destination, we are thrilled to unite these two classic legends of horror in a fresh, exciting way,” said Diane Robina, President of FEARnet. “To have Robert Englund and Kane Hodder on board for our new series is exciting…both for us and for horror lovers everywhere.”

"Fear Clinic" is being produced by Chang Tseng and Bobbi Sue Luther of Dry County Films and will premiere on FEARnet.com and FEARnet VOD destinations and will also be featured on FEARnet branded channels on such web video portals as Fancast, Hulu, You Tube, Crackle, Break, and many more.

Is that a Laid to Rest logo tattoo on Kane's arm?!?

This could be great...or very disappointing. Too bad Time-Warner dropped FEARnet- have to catch it online.

Kane, Robert and Danielle in one project together. ::sigh::

So what does he do to the scotophobia patient--throw 'em in a windowless room and shut out the lights? That's no fun. But it's Englund, so I'll watch.

as the writer of FEAR CLINIC, i wouldn't waste anybody's time with that lame sh**. Not with Englund, Hodder and sweet Harris in the mix. Heck no. So wait and see, bro, and if you don't like freak out over it-- you let me know. I will say that Fearnet (and I don't work for them, so you can trust me when I say this--) let us make this what we wanted it to be. Rob Hall's spfx and directing will lay waste to anything related to internet horror series' that's previously been on the web. Trust me.

I hope you didn't think I was bashing the idea; I wasn't. Internet sarcasm is hard to convey without stupid emoticons. No dude, I'm genuinely looking forward to this series. Don't let me down!

just curious if this is this the same Aaron Drane who penned "I DIED A THOUSAND TIMES" for Fox back in the day?

Yes. I'm flattered.
