Exclusive: Meet 7 From 9

Thanks to Focus Features, we’re pleased to present Dread Central’s second exclusive image from director Shane Acker’s upcoming film 9: The character “7”, who is voiced by Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly.
A brave and self-sufficient warrior, 7 is the group’s sole female. A fiercely independent adventuress, she has been out patrolling the wasteland. To survive, she has adapted, finding the bones of a deceased bird and crafting her signature skull helmet. Producer Tim Burton explains why he loves 7: “7 is my favorite in terms of poses struck. Growing up on martial arts movies, 7’s got that real Bruce Lee kind of quality that is just really strong.”

In case you’re somehow missed it, here’s a quick synopsis: When 9 (voiced by Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.
