Supernatural Season 4 Coming Home to DVD / Blu-ray

I've said it a hundred times, and I'll say it a hundred more ... If you're not watching "Supernatural", then you're missing some truly quality horror on TV. Don't discount the Winchesters as mere pretty boys; these dudes know how to whip some demon ass! If you did miss it, you ought to be thankful for DVD and Blu-ray. Season 4 is set to come home on September 1, 2009.

The six-disc set contains all 22 one-hour episodes as well as over four hours of amazing extras including featurettes, a gag reel (always a blast), and unaired scenes. Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season is priced at $59.98 SRP on DVD and $79.98 SRP on Blu-ray.

Synopsis
Resurrection. After enduring unspeakable torture, Dean escapes from Hell, rescued by an all-powerful creature he's never seen before ─ an Angel ─ a warrior of God who recruits Sam and Dean in Heaven's battle against Hell. And there are whispers that a certain fallen angel will soon be freed from his prison deep in Hell: Lucifer. If Sam and Dean can't stop it ─ if Lucifer walks free ─ he'll bring on the Apocalypse. Meanwhile, the Winchester brothers reunite and hit the road, battling the supernatural wherever they go. They encounter demons, spirits, Dracula himself, and even a drunk, heavily armed seven-foot-tall teddy bear. All the while, the ultimate war draws them into its horror throughout this enthralling six-disc, 22-episode Season Four set. Caught between Heaven and Hell, between God and the Devil, the Winchester brothers must battle for the future of humankind.

I watch a good amount of tv, but this show is the only network show I consider essential viewing (well, this and House). This season was great. I am concerned that they've lost their enthusiasm for making the show with the death of their exec producer/director/writer, Kim Manners, though. After the recent article in Entertainment Weekly, it seemed the actors just want to be done with it at this point. I hope the last season is up to the rest of it. I don't expect a happy ending for these guys, but that's the way it should be (and one of the things that makes this show so compelling).

Glad to see Castiel on the cover. He was such a great addition to the cast this season.

    Yeah. He's one badass cherub.

I'm looking forward to seeing Lucifer, and I hope there's more of Bobby in season five.
