Mike Dougherty's Halloween anthology Trick 'r Treat (review here) is finally getting its LONG overdue release on DVD and Blu-Ray!! The release date has yet to be announced, but it should be right around ... wait for it ... HALLOWEEN! The film, starring Anna "True Blood" Paquin and Brian (The Ring, Manhunt) Cox, will also be given a limited theatrical release in the following cities (more may be announced): FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL, Montreal, Canada July 9-27 TORONTO AFTER DARK, Toronto, Canada August 14-21 MORBIDO FEST, Mexico City, Mexico (MySpace) FANTASY FILM FESTIVAL - Berlin, Hamburg, Koln, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Stuggart, and Munich Germany - August 18-September 9, 2009 FANTASTIC FEST, Austin Texas, September 24-October 1 SCREAMFEST, Los Angeles, California - October 16-25 London, UK There will also be a graphic novel combining the 4-issue comic books from DC/Wildstorm released around the same time. Jun 08 FantAsia and Screamfest, so FantAsia and Screamfest, so two possibilities to see it on the big screen. I guess if we are not at FantAsia when it's playing (we'll be there from the 15th to the 18th of july), we can catch it at Screamfest maybe. Jun 07 I'm glad it's going to be I'm glad it's going to be playing at FantAsia, but the fact that this movie's not getting a full release is a fucking crime in my eyes. It's good it's coming out on DVD, but no one outside of genre fans is gonna give a fuck about it. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Sony puts zero effort into promoting it. Dick move, Sony. Dick move. Jun 07 I love bashing Sony as much I love bashing Sony as much as the next guy, but you shouldn't bash them for how this movie has been treated, as they have nothing to do with the film. It's Warner Brothers which has treated it this badly. But, as it's finally coming out I can't really complain as much.
