Early Look at Talisman Comic Characters
We're a little late with this update on the graphic novel version of Stephen King/Peter Straub's The Talisman, but in case you missed it also, within the last month King's official site provided a first look at three major characters from the story.
Click the below image of Lily Cavanaugh, "Queen of the B Movies" and mother of Jack, to be transported to Stephen King's official site, where you can also see the illustrations of Phil and Jack Sawyer.
In case you're a bit rusty on the details, The Talisman tells the tale of a young teen named Jack Sawyer, who can save his dying mother only by retrieving a magical talisman. To find it, he must cross back and forth between our world and the frightening and dangerous landscape of its “twinner” counterpart.
The drawings are by Tony Shasteen, who has been an illustrator since 1995, and the comic is being written by Robin Furth. Look for the first issue from Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, this fall.

The first teaser poster for David R. Ellis' fourth entry into Death's favorite franchise, Final Destination in 3D, crashed its way onto the Web today, and we gotta say it could very well be the best FD poster yet, if only for its absence of the prerequisite frightened looking cast!

Meh. I'm not really feeling it this time. It seems the success of the Dark Tower comics is causing a rapid succession of Stephen King comics, with The Stand and now this.
I'm a big King fan, but I'd rather see original comics from the man himself (like what his son Joe Hill is doing) than adaptations of his work by other writers.
