Lionsgate Signs For Season of the Witch
No ... calm down. Breathe. Lionsgate is NOT remaking Halloween III: Season of the Witch. We'll always have the bastard of the Halloween franchise with its cool-ass deaths and manic theme song to ourselves. We're talking about an all new property here, folks, one that's free from showing us Tom Atkins' bare ass!
Variety broke the news that Relativity Media and Lionsgate have reached a multi-picture distribution deal that will feature their new horror property Season of the Witch.
Season of the Witch is "directed by Dominic Sena and stars Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, and Claire Foy in the story of 14th Century knights transporting a girl suspected of being the witch who has spread the Black Plague."
Since Cage and Plagues go together hand-in-hand, we're all over this one. Hopefully there will be a plague of bees so Nicolas can reinvent his timeless "MY EYES" speech from the side-splittingly funny Wicker Man remake!

The new Final Destination isn't even in theatres yet, and already there's talk of David R. Ellis' next feature, this time an in-name-only horrific new take on a really old nursery rhyme.

Sounds like a really cool premise. Too bad Nic cage being in it already makes it a no-go for me. I don't know what happened to him, but anything with him anymore is an automatic crapfest. Oh well, maybe Ron Perlman can save it.
