Reese Witherspoon is Nice
... or should I say NIIICCE? In any event it looks like the woman who helped the once sane Joaquin Phoenix walk the line is looking to go a little loony herself with Fox Searchlight.
Variety reports this morning that Fox Searchlight has acquired screen rights to Jen Sacks' Nice, which will be developed as a potential star vehicle for Witherspoon, who's also producing.
Nice centers upon a magazine writer who accidentally kills her boyfriend. She finds a way to get rid of the body and discovers that killing boyfriends is easier than breaking up with them. Ain't it the truth?
Ben Queen will adapt the story and hopes to maintain the book's dark and edgy feel. Guess we'll see about that one. The last thing I think of when Reese comes to mind is dark and edgy.
Stay tuned.

After not seeing the teaser trailer for Halloween 2 before his screening of Crank 2 (review), our man Nomad contacted the press folks who are working on H2 and found out some rather disappointing news for fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the film.

Wow, so it's Sex And The City meets American Psycho (an ironic twist since Reese was in Psycho)...I guarantee you that's how it was pitched.
No thanks.

So she doesn't do anything for you? I think she's cute. What now?

Sometimes the best performances come from people acting against type. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. And I actually do think she's cute, although that particular picture is atrocious.
So when does Foy review the Asylum Mockbuster "Sweet"?

"NIIICCE"? Really??? I have never understood why people find Reece Witherspoon attractive... She does absolutely nothing for me!

I wasn't saying I find her all that attractive -- was just using Butane's favorite expression since it fit the story so well.
