Zombie Themed Wine Hitting the Market
I'm not sure how many wine aficionados we have around Dread Central, but after reading about a new offering from Redheads Studio of McLaren Vale in Southern Australia called "Return of the Living Red," I just had to share the details.
"Return of the Living Red" is a complex fine wine with no listed age; a mysterious and intriguing wine. To complement the nature of the product, Mash Design developed a concept containing missing and/or suppressed crime files implying the existence of the living dead in and around the vineyards. With use of disturbing illustrations and fascinating old photos on a toothy uncoated paper, the concept was bought to life. A slipknot with old twine and a deep red wax dipped bottle went with the old crime file folder, creating one of the most original marketing pieces I've ever seen.
The Redheads Studio website is currently under construction, but I'll certainly be checking it regularly to see if any other genre-themed wines come available. In the meantime, check out the pictures below for an idea of the cool packaging Mash came up with for "Return of the Living Red."

I will admit it’s not really horror, but I can’t help but get excited for the new Chronicles of Riddick game, Assault on Dark Athena. Today Atari dropped a new trailer for the game and defying all logic (since it’s really not horror), I’ve added it to our video playlist. So check it out, damnit!

Awesome, thanks for the heads up!
I will def. keep an eye out for this wine.
Lotsof Australian wines at Big Lots lately, maybe this one will make it there too eventually (wines being at Big Lots does not mena they're not good, they just are less expensive there).

Thanks for posting this Debi. I'm not much of a fan when it comes to Australian wines but I would buy this at least for the novelty.

Sweet - it's about time South Australia did something cool, which NEVER happens in SA! Trust me, I live there! hehe Go McLaren Vale!

That's cool. Probably expensive though, and I'm still saving up to get some Tentacle Grape.

If it is a non-vintage wine then there's a chance (hopefully) that it won't be too expensive, and Australia makes some great wine. I just wish we knew what the varietals are. I'm looking forward to trying it if it makes it to the states.
