Dinner for Fiends: Friday the 3rd Taint

Dinner for Fiends!Venom. Spite. Disgust. Boredom. These are the ingredients that make up the latest Dinner for Fiends, along with a dash of basil for color and flavor. This recipe is necessary to counter the bad taste left in our collective mouth from the new Friday the 13th redux.

Join Uncle Creepy, Andrew Kasch, The Foywonder and myself as we dissect just what Platinum Dunes got wrong with their franchise reboot, and how it would’ve been so much simpler to hire someone with actual passion and directorial skills to bring this to life.

Derek Mears as Jason and the copious amounts of fantastic breasts are the only things that save the remake for us, but that’s all I will reveal. You’ll have to hit the links below to download the latest DFF, after which you will head over and VOTE FOR US ON PODCASTS ALLEY!

I thought the movie was okay although my expectations were really low. I'd bet good money this would have been a great Jason movie in the hands of Adam Green or Joe Lynch

Any thoughts on what they would really knock it home? I liked some of the surrealist direction in Freddy vs Jason. The bodies floating, Jason's house --- it would be fantastic if the franchise became more visionary like that and many extremely gory and violent. I am sure the film "looks" good, Daniel Pearl is an exquisite cinematopher. What irks me if what they did to TCM and my beautiful Leatherface, he seemed more like Jason and oddly enough, from what I hear about the character of Jason he is a bit more like Leatherface...

If you love Daniel Pearl, prepare for the worst. So many out of focus shots. It's like between this and AVP:R he's given up!

Man, I actually finally squinted through AVP:R. It's really not that horrible of a movie if you start watching it right around the time the Alien lands in the pool. But holy shit you guys were not lying. It's fucking impossible to see what's going on.

I haven't seen this yet because I'm waiting for my friend to also be available to check it out. That's my excuse. I just find it hard to believe that you guys didn't like this movie. My theory on this is that there are those that when you speed up what was once slow their brain automatically is programed to dislike.

It's kind of like how when you make a generic slasher film and then make it in the 3-D and suddenly it's the best slasher film of the past 10 years.

You know, I think Jason should have looked at the camera and winked or something. Then Andrew would have loved it for breaking the fourth wall, and we would have fourth wall breaking part 2.

Great show guys, now i'm just praying you guys pull off a sequel to the nature gone amok episode, something along the lines of zombies or slashers gone amok

I think the only ones who hated it were me and Andrew, but even then I don't think we hated it as much as we were disturbed by it. Butane and Foy were pretty much in your indifferent "Meh" boat.

I was above "meh". I actually was entertained throughout the flick and would give it a solid 3 knives.

As if Creepy would have allowed you to get a word in edge-wise.

Don't think I'd classify my dislike for the film as "Hate. Bile. Disgust." either. I think I was the one who harbored the least amount hate. More like disappointed boredom.
