Love short stories but don’t have a lot time to read them? Have an iPhone/iPod/iPad or an Android? Then you’ll be interested in 3:15, a collection of nine standalone, spooky stories based on urban legends, B-movie horror, and classic ghost stories from innovative author Patrick Carman (Skeleton Creek).

From the Press Release:
3:15 means several things. It’s a time when things go bump in the night. A place where spooky stories find a home. A feeling. That chill running down your spine. ‘3’ stands for listen, read, watch. Because that’s what you do with a 3:15 story. ‘15’ is how long it’s going to take you — fifteen minutes or less.

A new story will be available every two weeks as an app with three parts. First is an audio introduction, narrated by a creepy Rod Serling-type, Paul Chandler. If readers are brave enough to continue, they’ll read a text story for about ten minutes. Read the words and unlock the ending, a video which shows how the story concludes.

Episode 1: “Buried Treasure” is now available on iTunes and the Android Market. Episode 2: “Reflecting Pool” will be available on March 29, 2011. You can learn more and also download the first story at 3:15’s official website.

All nine stories, plus two never-before-seen Skeleton Creek shorts, will be released in a 3:15 print version in September 2011. Links will appear at the end of each story to take readers to the video endings.

Check out the 3:15 trailer and teaser videos for the first two episodes below, and for more “like” 3:15 on Facebook and follow 3:15 on Twitter.

Hold your machetes, wipe your tears and pick your jaw up from the floor because the one and only Italian master of the horror film, Dario Argento will be making a rare visit to the UK to take part in HorrorCon UK. The greatest Horror convention in England is now in its 4th year and getting Argento to appear is a real coup. Argento who is perhaps one of the greatest ever horror director’s to get behind a lens will be appearing over the weekend of May 19th-20th to meet with fans and join in a Q and A session and there will even be a chance to get a photo with him.

HorrorCon UK will be pulling out all of the stops as the guests don’t stop there. Also scheduled to appear will be the legendary David Warner who has starred in everything from The Omen to Waxwork. Warner was supposed to make an appearance last year but sadly had to pull out at the 11th hour due to filming commitments.

The one and only Jeff Combs who is most famous amongst horror fans as playing Herbert West in the 1985 classic Re-Animator will be making an appearance and it is always an honor to share his company. In fact it will be a somewhat Re-Animator reunion as Barbara Crampton will also be at HorrorCon UK, marking her first ever European convention appearance!

The legendary Dee Wallace who is a bona fide scream queen with a resume that includes The Howling, The Hills Have Eyes, Cujo and The Lords of Salem and let’s not forget she survived the Critters so no messin’ with this gal is also here and she will be warmly welcomed that’s for sure.  Other guests include Claudio Simonetti the legendary performer, basically if you have a giallo movie in your collection- which we know you do- then you have heard Simonetti’s incredible work. He has worked closely with Argento and other Italian masters such as Lucio Fulci and Umberto Lenzi. The icing on the cake is that Simonetti will also perform some of his original movie scores on the day.

Billy Wirth who played Dwayne as part of the gang of vampires in one of the greatest 80s horror movies ever in The Lost Boys will also be here, just make sure you don’t get bitten by him! Rounding up the guests will be Graham Humphrey’s a man who needs no introduction but will get one anyway. Humphrey’ s artistic talent knows no boundaries and he has been behind the iconic UK VHS artwork from The Evil Dead to A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Apart from the guests will be the various traders selling everything from replica props, t-shirts, rare memorabilia, movies, magazines and model kits. Hosts will include Ben Wilkinson, Tony Earnshaw, Darrell Buxton and the majestic Bunny Galore! When Will World War Z 2 Begin Filming?

Published

on

Supposedly the upcoming David Fincher World War Z sequel was rumored to begin shooting this fall, but now that doesn’t seem to be happening.

The Playlist reports that the script for World War Z 2 – written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Peaky Blinders, Taboo) and Dennis Kelly (Utopia) – is still in development and apparently not ready quite yet. Add to that, Brad Pitt‘s schedule may be an issue as he’s shooting Tarantino‘s new movie soon.

While some location scouting has taken place in Bilbao, Spain, Sweden, Texas and other spots around the world, evidently Fincher will be taking on the second season of Netflick’s Mindhunter first.

Are you upset to know that World War Z 2 might still be a ways off? Hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Synopsis:

When former U.N. investigator Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) and his family get stuck in urban gridlock, he senses that it’s no ordinary traffic jam. His suspicions are confirmed when, suddenly, the city erupts into chaos. A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and, with luck, a way to halt its spread.
