Vampire Huntress: From Best Selling Book Series to Comic Series

default-featured-image

The saga of Vampire Huntress Neteru aka Damali Richards came to an end in 2009 after a successful 12 book series by L.A. Banks, and now her adventures will continue on, this time in the form of a new comic series that hits shelves on July 28th.

The book series, also written by Banks and titled Vampire Huntress: The Hidden Darkness, follows Damali, a spoken word artist by trade but who is also The Neteru, a human who is born every thousand years to fight the Dark Realms. Her constant enemy from The Dark Realms are vampires, naturally. In the first comic, Book 1: Ashes To Ashes, Neteru and her gang have defeated Satan’s top demon, The Thirteenth, and have driven back the forces of evil in the first battle of the Armageddon (think LOTR: The Two Towers). The dark side, however, is only in temporary retreat. Classic situation of you’ve won the battle, but let us see who wins the war. Expect this book to be filled with scenes of epic proportions as the battle between good and evil includes, but is not limited to, war, famine, floods and natural disasters.

The first issue and its cover were drawn by Brett Booth (Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men) and will be continued by Gregory Titus (Marvel Adventures, Fantastic Four, Annihilation: Super Skrull, Hack/Slash, Star Wars Tales).
