Director John Fitzpatrick and his crew are back with another episode of their monthly “Scary Endings” horror anthology series, this one titled The Grinning Man (inspired by the Creepypasta story of the same name).

Directed by Fitzpatrick and starring Adam J. Yeend (Brentwood Strangler) and Grant Geller, with a special voice appearance by Dichen Lachman (“Dollhouse,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), The Grinning Man serves as Episode 9 of the production’s first season.

Produced by director Fitzpatrick (along with Sarah Fitzpatrick, Jessica Chandler, Ryan Dillon, and Yeend) and written by Yeend, the screenwriter told us of the film, “I love urban legends, and I stumbled across a real recording of an interview with a man who had contact with Indrid Cold, aka ‘The Grinning Man.’ I found it both fascinating and really disturbing. What is he? An alien? Government agent? The more research I did, I found that, along with the other sightings, it was intriguing enough for an episode. Combining elements of these reported ‘sightings’ with my own personal 2AM experience when house-sitting a friend’s home in Beverly Hills (I still to this day do not know who was on that intercom at the front door), I fleshed out the story, and I think it fits in nicely with the ‘Scary Endings’ anthology.”

Yeend added, “I’d also wondered if these stories can even work as well when putting a male as the prey rather than what is usually a female role in these thriller and horror scenarios. The truth is, also as an actor, I had no idea or real reference as to how guys are supposed to react in these situations because I’ve found they always seem to cop it in the back or really suddenly, they often don’t get time to recognize that they may be in danger. I wanted to explore and see if it even could be scary having a guy deal with being stalked and for me as an actor how to portray that – us fellas can be vulnerable too, right?”

Stated director Fitzpatrick of the upcoming season finale and what we may expect in Season Two of “Scary Endings,” ”The last episode is going to be a lot of fun and involves a mystical Jack-in-the-Box, a balloon, and one creepy clown. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it, and we’ll go out with a bang, leaving people thirsty for more. As for Season Two, we have a huge slate of even creepier and more thrilling stories in store.”
