Here at Dread Central we’re pretty big on the paranormal, and that’s why when something spooky happens in the headlines, we try to get it to you ASAP! Case in point: The Stanley Hotel, which was the basis for Stephen King’s The Shining, has long been considered haunted, and a recent visitor may have captured one of its spirits on camera.

According to MSN, Henry Yau, a publicist from Houston, said he was inspired to visit The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, after hearing stories of its paranormal past.

Per the website, the infamous hotel has been “collecting spirits” since 1872, when the Earl of Dunraven attempted to claim the land amidst disputing native tribes. The property was converted into a luxury hotel in 1909 and soon gained a reputation of being haunted.

Yau thought he had taken a picture of an empty lobby. “When I took it, I didn’t notice anything,” said Yau. “I usually don’t like people in my shots. Overnight, I felt queasy and had stomach problems.
