DVD and Blu-ray Releases: September 29, 2015

Hey, everyone. We’ve got a lot going on this week so I’ll tackle the “discrepancies” first. Four releases from Olive Films have been bumped back to November 17th. They are: the 25th anniversary Shock ‘Em Dead release, Killer Workout, Trashology and Splatter: Architects of Fear. Check back in November for more information.

Additionally, it appears as though Bleading Lady, which I had in last week’s list, is actually coming out this week. I’m not sure what exactly the deal is with this release so if you’ve already seen it on your local shelves, disregard this snippet of information. Similarly, Throwback was listed way back on July 21st and has popped up again on my radar for this week.

Lastly, Amazon is reporting Poltergeist as “Currently Unavailable,” but I am seeing it listed on other sites as still having the 29th for a release date. Hopefully you can find a copy this week.

TV fans will be psyched about the 4th season of “Grimm” as well as the first season of “iZombie.” Personally speaking, I need to get back into watching “Grimm.” The first season was highly enjoyable and they’ve made it to 4 seasons with the 5th starting on October 30th, so they must be doing something right.

As for classics, how about a classic car that just happens to be possessed? That’s right; Stephen King’s Christine will be dropping on Blu-ray this week. We’ll also be seeing the DVD and Blu-ray release of 1981’s Savage Weekend. Monster Madness: The Counter Culture to Blockbusters will offer a documentary regarding exploitation style horror of the 1960’s as well as the explosion of awesome horror movies of the 1970’s – definitely a good item to grab for a wider look at some of the most influential movies in the history of the genre.

Be sure to read the remainder of this article for information on the rest of this week’s 29 releases, and as always, pleasant viewing!
