Family Gets Draining in Trailer for Creature Feature ‘The Leaching’

Not everyone likes to admit it, but family can be so draining. The commitment. The responsibility. The urge to avoid disappointing them. Those arguments at the Thanksgiving dinner table. I love my family, but, sure, they can be exhausting. In the trailer for Uncork’d Entertainment and DarkStar Pictures’ creature feature, The Leaching, that sentiment is taken to a literal level.

After waking up in a grave on her father’s isolated forest property with no idea of who she is or how she got there, Vivian must use her limited memory to piece together the nightmarish truth, all the while being tormented by the undead, a giant leech monster, and her “father.” Over the next few days, she will uncover the framework of a truly nefarious supernatural scheme, but will it be too late?

A giant leech monster sounds bad enough. But the undead and her father, as well? Vivian is not having a good day, my friends.

Evan Showalter (Ante Mortem) wrote/directed the film.

Said Showalter, “The Leaching is an exploration of faith, the loss of self, and the monsters (literally) that emerge when people surrender themselves to something greater than they can understand. It’s an isolating horror film that plays with a very uncomfortable question: Can you trust your family?”

The Leaching latches onto Digital and On Demand on July 7th.
