The 'Ice Cream Man' Trailer Is a Full-Blown Sugar Rush of Gore

Horror fans rejoice. Eli Roth is back this summer with a brand-new horror film.

The auteur behind several modern horror classics, Roth broke out with the Evil Dead-inspired Cabin Fever, an indie horror success that helped launch his career. He followed it with Hostel and Hostel: Part II, a sequel many fans still consider superior to the original. He later paid tribute to Ruggero Deodato’s controversial cult classic Cannibal Holocaust with The Green Inferno, a film I’m personally a big fan of.

Now Roth is back with a tasty new treat for horror fans: a brand-new slasher called Ice Cream Man, which opens in theaters this August.

Today, we’ve been served up the first full trailer for the film, which centers on an ice cream man who turns children into violent monsters through poisoned frozen treats. Before long, those kids are running amok through their school and community, attacking teachers, principals, and just about anyone else unfortunate enough to get in their way.

The trailer itself is prime Eli Roth. It’s everything you’d expect from one of modern horror’s most recognizable filmmakers. The footage is filled to the brim with fun gags, outrageous violence, and plenty of blood and guts.

If we’ve learned anything from Roth over the years, it’s that he’s exceptionally good at framing a kill and making sure the audience is having as much fun as he is. Whether it’s the brutal set pieces of Hostel, the feverish chaos of Cabin Fever, or his recent return to slashers with Thanksgiving, Roth knows exactly how to deliver crowd-pleasing carnage.

And Ice Cream Man looks like another winner. The trailer is packed with inventive kills, over-the-top mayhem, and the kind of mischievous energy that feels tailor-made for a packed theater crowd. Rather than simply handing audiences another frozen treat, Roth appears ready to unleash a full-blown sugar rush of bloodshed.

Check out the official trailer below.

Ice Cream Man opens exclusively in theaters on August 7, 2026.
