‘Insidious: Out of the Further’ — First Trailer and Poster Return to Franchise Roots! [Watch]
James Wan’s Insidious (2010) began with a family fighting to save their child from the Further. Now, in Insidious: Out of the Further, the evil has found a way to break free.
In Insidious: Out of the Further, Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in, who discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe.
When something evil comes after her, Gemma discovers an ability that changes everything: she doesn’t just enter The Further, she can bring what lives there back to the real world. Once the demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.
Dread Central now has the trailer for the sixth film in the franchise, which also has Lin Shaye reprising her iconic role as Elise Rainier.
The trailer looks to be a return to The Further, starting with a nightmarish dental check-up and ending in a surreal, endless pillow fort from the deep, dark depths of hell. Interesting that this footage drops during the height of liminal horror, as the scary pillow fort sequence is giving us mild Backrooms energy. Scary stuff! Oh, and did I mention Insidious: Out of the Further is basically The Avengers of Insidious? All of the franchise spooks come out to play – look below!
