‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Director Michael Sarnoski Tackling Pilot for Kidnapping Thriller Series, “The Chain”

Filmmaker Michael Sarnoski has made quite a name for himself between films like Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One, proving himself as a storyteller who always manages to find the humanity at the heart of his stories. Next up, he’ll direct HBO’s pilot episode for kidnapping thriller, “The Chain“, reports Deadline.
Based on the New York Times bestseller by Adrian McKinty, the eight-episode series follows “a suburban mother who must consider the unthinkable when her daughter is kidnapped.”
Jodie Comer stars as the mother, following her work together with Sarnoski on The Death of Robin Hood.
Damon Lindelof (“Lost”) is writing, executive producing and showrunning. The pilot story was developed by Lindelof, Carly Wray and Breannah Gibson, with Lindelof and Wray writing the pilot script.
Sarnoski will also serve as executive producer alongside Michael Ellenberg for Media Res, Sarnoski, Shane Salerno, Breannah Gibson, and Joe Iberti. McKinty serves as co-executive producer.
I still think about how Sarnoski managed to turn A Quiet Place: Day One into one of the more heartfelt creature features I’ve seen over the last decade. Expect him to once again hit viewers in the feels with “The Chain”.
