Shudder Announces ‘Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain’ Series starring Devon Sawa!

Production is currently underway on season two of Shudder’s horror anthology series, “Hell Motel“, dubbed, “Murder at Red Mountain“. Courtesy of the streaming service, we have our first look at the next iteration of the fan favorite series, featuring a concerned Devon Sawa (Heart Eyes, “Chucky”).
Set at a mountain resort known for eliminating people’s inhibitions and amplifying their desires, “Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain” continues to reveal the chilling consequences of surrendering to our darkest impulses amidst the unique Cold River landscape. As guests and staff go missing without explanation and violent incidents increase, it becomes clear that Red Mountain has a long horrific history for a reason and that no one is safe.
Sawa stars as “Patrick,” a man with a thirst for alternative facts and theories who comes to the resort to look into historic mysteries tied to Red Mountain.
Creators Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter (“Slasher”) return as showrunners. They executive produced alongside Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie and director Adam MacDonald.
The first season of “Hell Motel” followed a group of true crime obsessives who are invited to the opening weekend of the newly renovated Cold River Motel, the site of a 30-year-old unsolved Satanic Mass Murder. As it tends to go, history repeats itself when the guests start getting knocked off one by one.
A Shudder original series, “Hell Motel” was developed and produced by Shaftesbury, in association with Canadian broadcaster Hollywood Suite and with the participation of Ontario Creates and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.
Said Courtney Thomasma, Executive Vice President of Linear and Streaming Products, AMC Global Media, “We’re thrilled to open a chilling new chapter of Hell Motel from the brilliant minds of Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter, who continue to push the boundaries of horror. Shudder members know great scares when they see them and this season delivers the tension, terror, and terrifying good fun they expect from Shudder.”
Ever since starring in the 1995 Casper, Sawa has returned again and again to horror, always with a memorable performance. From his lead roles in Final Destination and Idle Hands, to appearances in the “Chucky” series and most recently, a character in the hit slasher, Heart Eyes, he’s an actor that’s always fun to watch. Consider me excited to see what he does in “Hell Motel”.
