‘Shudder’s ‘Forbidden Fruits’ Comes to Digital Next Week
Meredith Alloway’s feature debut, Forbidden Fruits, which pulls from classic teen horror films The Craft and Teen Witch, is heading to Digital HD next week on April 28.
The film follows Free Eden employee Apple, who secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.
Forbidden Fruits stars Lili Reinhart (Hustlers), Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Victoria Pedretti (You), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie) and Emma Chamberlain in her debut performance.
Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) is listed as a producer on the film co-written by Alloway and Lily Houghton, and IFC Films and Shudder have set it for release in theaters on March 27.
