No, it isn’t a new clip from the mad scientists at The Asylum production company, but rather one from Marcus Nispel’s first original horror film, The Asylum (review) (aka Backmask and Exeter)! You can catch the flick on UK DVD and Blu-ray come May 4, courtesy of Studiocanal – but for now, enjoy some exclusive holy water-flingin’, scripture-screamin’ exorcism action.
The Asylum stars Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brittany Curan and Brett Dier; it was written by Texas Chainsaw 3D scribe Kirsten Elms and directed by Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th remakes).
Synopsis:
Six teenagers host the sex and drug-fuelled party of a lifetime in an old, abandoned asylum, ignoring rumours that the once brutal and controversial home for the criminally insane still houses the spirits of its tormented victims.
After a series of increasingly daring games, they raise the stakes and attempt to summon the spirits that haunt the building. However, they soon find themselves fighting for their lives as a vengeful spirit infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to the next.
