Attack of the Giant Leeches Redux Date & Art
Not to worry, oh lovers of cheesy B-cinema everywhere, we wouldn’t let 2008 come to a close without adding some last-minute cheese garnish to the year. Not that this year hasn’t been rife with news on low budget cinema masterpieces waiting to happen, but not nearly enough of them have had to do with giant leeches!
We got a heads up this morning that Brett Kelly’s remake of Roger Corman’s 1959 classic Attack of the Giant Leeches is finally set for a solid DVD release on April 7th, 2009 from Midnight Releasing. We also got a look at the cover art, as you can see, which I have to say doesn’t revel in the low budget B-movieness of the film nearly enough. Looks like it’s trying to be downright respectable.
No matter, it’s got giant leeches and (hopefully) lots of blood, so not much can go wrong with it, can it? Famous last words. Kelly’s last film, “>Prey for the Beast (review), didn’t exactly set the world on fire, but we’re hoping for good things from this low budget redux.
