Baker Talks Wolfman
Rick Baker received the Tesla Award from the International Press Academy on the 14th, and during his speech discussed his work on “>The Wolfman remake, which he admitted he had no idea why it’s been delayed for almost a full year.
His work on the film, he says, harkens back to the original Universal monster more than it does to his iconic creation for An American Werewolf in London, which is pretty obvious if you’ve seen any of the images of the beast. As for the long-debated question of an actual on-screen transformation? ”I’m not sure what they are going to do about the transformation; I heard they are going to do it in CG, and I think that is a mistake.”
Well, if Baker’s not filmed Benicio del Toro transforming into a werewolf, then we can be pretty sure that they are going with CG, which brings a tear to my eye. The good thing is they now have many more months should they decide otherwise to go back and film one, so we have to keep some hope alive, yes? The Wolfman is now set to come out November 9th, 2009.

Hope Universal gets smart about this in the Dread Central forums!
