Unborn Prequel, International Poster
There are ways to market a horror film that can make it look like something truly horrifying, even if the actual product is not. There are also ways to market a horror film that make it look ridiculous, which in the case of David Goyer’s “>The Unborn, we’ve heard is sadly a fact.
The international poster for The Unborn showed up on Empire yesterday, and while it may look like a pretty cool poster from the sample on the right, clicking over there to see the whole thing will demonstrate that their focus is way off. Don’t get me wrong. I can appreciate the ass-ests of a poster like this, but it makes whatever scare factor the artwork’s trying to convey nill.
In other Unborn news, Arrow in the Head got word from star Odette Yustman that this might not the last we see of the Unborn universe: ”I know that David Goyer was talking about maybe doing a prequel … maybe developing that story a little bit more, and you could see why maybe her relationship with her father isn’t as strong as it should be and how the real story went down. So that would be a possibility, you know, if it’s a hit.”
Something tells me that won’t be the case, but we’ll wait until we finally see it to pass final judgment. The Unborn opens everywhere on January 9th, 2009, so we don’t have long to wait!
