Killer Tomatoes Attack Comic Book Racks!
I couldn’t tell you how long it has been since I’ve been in a comic book store, though I used to be an avid comic collector years ago. I might have to pay a visit to my local comic shop again this week to pick-up the first issue of a new comic based on the all-time bad movie classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
Yep. The humanity-hating veggies are going back on the attack in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes #1 from Viper Comics. The Killer Tomatoes may seem like an unlikely property to get the graphic novel treatment but having already spawned three movie sequels, a video game, a Saturday morning cartoon, and a line of toys, I suppose a comic book mini-series isn’t to hard to fathom. It probably also helps that a big screen remake is currently in the works from the Ask A Ninja guys.
The three-issue miniseries takes the plotline of the original Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie and umps the ante in ways the absurdist 1978 film’s budget couldn’t allow. The comic series is written by Dale Mittem and features art by Erich Owen.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes #1 should be on your local comic shop’s shelf this coming Wednesday.
And afterwards, rush out to you local video store and rent Return of the Killer Tomatoes. George Clooney thanks you for your support.
