Hit British Series Black Mirror Getting American Adaptation

Often compared to “The Twilight Zone,” the British series “Black Mirror” has proven itself a big hit here in the States ever since being put up for streaming on Netflix. It was inevitable that we Americans would someday make our own version, and it looks like we’re getting ready to do just that.

Variety reports that a U.S. rendition of “Black Mirror” is in the works, as revealed earlier this week by the new leaders of Endemol Shine North America. Co-CEO Charlie Corwin broke the news, though he’s remaining tight-lipped about the plans.

Corwin declined to elaborate other than to say that “Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker and producer Annabel Jones “have really touched on something, and I agree – we need more.”

If you’re a Netflix member, you can currently stream the first two seasons of the original British anthology series, which delves deep into the dark side of life and technology.
