Fan Film Critters: Bounty Hunter Puts the Bite Back Into the Crites
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. announced plans to bring the Critters franchise back to life in the form of a web series for their digital unit Blue Ribbon Content. We don’t yet know much about the series, but one fan has already taken it upon himself to beat WB to the punch – and potentially show them that he’s the man for the job.
Upon hearing the news, filmmaker Jordan Downey (ThanksKilling) set out to make a film that would essentially serve as his audition tape, hopeful that WB would see it and hire him as the director for the web series. And we sincerely hope they do see it because holy shit, is it awesome.
“I’ve been a die-hard fan of the series since I was a kid and wanted to show that I would be the right director for the project,” wrote Downey in the video’s description. “This short film is my pitch.”

Completed in just over two months with a small budget and an even smaller crew, Critters: Bounty Hunter is one of the best fan films that has ever come across our desk here at Dread Central, and we’re pretty sure that you’re going to be begging WB to hire Downey after you get done with it.

Warner Bros.’ upcoming Critters web series will revisit the world of the legendary New Line Cinema cult classic movie franchise, as a new batch of alien pests descends upon the planet. Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath (“Teen Titans Go!”) have been tapped to write.
