Having not been able to see Cthulhu (Review) yet, I can’t offer up any objects or back-ups to the positive reviews out there, but a film with Tori Spelling as a seductress can’t be bad.

Regent Releasing and here! Films picked up Dan Gildark’s indie flick today. A date of August 22nd, 2008 has been set for the movie, but the actual release isn’t exactly specified. Will this be playing across the nation in theatres? Will it appear on here! TV? Will this be the DVD release?

Those questions weren’t answered in the press release, but we’re sure going to find out. Either way, Director Dan Gildark is pleased to see his H.P. Lovecraft adaptation is moving on to be seen by more people, “We are pleased to be working with Regent in releasing this film to a broad audience. Fans of H.P. Lovecraft will be naturally drawn to the story as its appeal is as timeless as it is wide-ranging. Cthulhu’ is also the first big-screen take on H.P. Lovecraft’s work that does not rely on parody and camp, instead approaching the original material with real complexity.
