It’s not often that you get a three-time Emmy Award-winning actress to star in your horror short. But that’s exactly what director Vincent Masciale has with Julie Marie Berman in Count to 10. The film is debuting at Screamfest and will be available through BlackBoxTV.
BlackBoxTV is the most popular genre channel on YouTube and will be the distribution home for Count to 10, which also features Bob Clendenin (“Scrubs”, “Cougar Town”) and Jason Bonell.
Director Masciale co-produced Count to 10 with Luke Barnett. “We are extremely excited to be working with BlackBoxTV,” Barnett said. “They’ve consistently put out the best genre content online, and we believe it’s the perfect fit for Count to 10,” he added.
The Screamfest Film Festival, often regarded as the “Sundance of Horror,” runs October 14-23 in Los Angeles. For tickets and more information visit ScreamfestLA.com.
From the Press Release
Count to 10, a digital horror short starring three-time Emmy Award winner Julie Marie Berman, Bob Clendenin, and newcomer Jason Bonell, will premiere at the 2014 Screamfest Film Festival before being released online by BlackBoxTV, the most watched genre channel on YouTube.
Vincent Masciale directs from a script penned by Bob Perkins and Ryan Scott Self about a single mother in a new house who tries to reassure her son that fear is only in his mind… ut what if she’s wrong?
Count to 10 is produced by Masciale and Luke Barnett under the duo’s Lone Suspect Productions banner. Their last horror short, Fear, Inc., starring Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede I & II, The Scribbler) and Dean Cates (Ritual, POD), was a finalist in England’s renowned “Bloody Cuts Film Challenge” and is now in development as a feature film with plans to shoot in early 2015.
“Many companies put the sole focus on story. We seek out projects with powerful stories that also have the ability to reach mainstream audiences on various platforms,” said Masciale.
