Lead & Director Set for Dead of Night
From comics to film back to comics and now on to film again, Dylan Dog just will not die. Though It can’t seem to keep its title in place for some strange reason.
Variety has officially confirmed this morning that Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) will topline Dead of Night, the latest adaptation of the popular Italian comic book Dylan Dog (which had major influences on Cemetery Man), with Kevin Munroe (TMNT) in the director’s chair.
For those unfamiliar, Dylan Dog is a private investigator who’s drawn into the world of the undead, hunting monsters that try and make their claim on London. Platinum Studios are producing the film alongside Hyde Park. Dylan Dog, the comic, was first published in Italy back in 1986 and has been translated to 17 languages (!) since. So I guess a straight-up adaptation is long overdue, eh? Just didn’t think it’d be helmed by the guy who brought back the Ninja Turtles…
