Tribeca Horrors 2008: Dying Breed
Just like our extensive and exhausting (on our side, at least) coverage from last year (read it all “>right here), we’re compiling as much info as we can for the horror offerings at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, going down in NYC this April 23rd – May 4th!
The next film we’re looking at is Jody Dwyer’s Dying Breed, which admittedly I’d not heard of before Tribeca but has quickly jumped up on the “must see” list for this year’s fest.
The story follows a zoologist on the trail of the fabled Tasmanian Tiger, a beast thought to have been extinct for decades, despite random sightings throughout the years. Hoping to get proof that the creature does still exist, she ventures deep into Tasmania with some assistants, but soon the group realize they’ve stumbled into the domain of another Tasmanian legend, that of The Pieman, a man hanged for cannibalism in 1824 whose descendents are still very much alive and very hungry.
Check out the screening times for Dying Breed at Tribeca below; then scroll down for an assortment of stills and the film’s trailer! When you’re all done, be sure to hit up the brand-new Dying Breed official site for even more!
