Bowman Pilots a Castle for ABC

Having just finished watching the brilliant British show “Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace”, I can’t help but chuckle a bit at this idea: Variety got word that Rob (Reign of Fire, The X-Files) Bowman is set to direct the pilot episode of a new ABC series called “Castle” about a horror novelist who consults for the NYPD.
Now that’s the sort of thing I can see Garth Marenghi doing in a heartbeat. If you’re lucky enough to have seen the show, I’m sure you know what I mean; if not, get the Region 2 DVD now. You will thank me.
Anyway, back to “Castle”; Andrew Marlowe (Hollow Man, End of Days) wrote the script and will executive produce with Armyan Bernstein’s Beacon Television. We’ll keep an eye on it, of course, even though it’s doubtful they’re going to take the comedic spin I want to see…
