1.8 Days (click for larger image)Okay, so we know what can happen in 28 days. We even know what happens in 28 weeks. But a group of young indie filmmakers are out to show us that less time spent can be more, especially when it’s in 3-D.

Dread Central reader Smalls has directed our attention to the official 1.8 Days website and the official 1.8 Days MySpace site to learn a bit more about what’s looking like the latest comin’-atcha flick on the proverbial slate!

Written and directed by Chuck Fallaw of Movie Tao Productions, 1.8 Days is shaping up nicely. Thus far it is set to star Gary Busey and Will Turpin of the band Collective Soul (who’ll also be providing the music), and it has Toby Sells, whose work we saw in Dance of the Dead and The Signal, on board to handle the film’s F/X.

The synopsis is a bit vague but intriguing nonetheless:

“Two hustlers, their ex-fiancé, a ruthless crime boss, and a bounty hunter, all intent on killing each other, suddenly find themselves in the middle of an “invasion.” The lifelong violent must band together to defeat the (what the hell are they!?). They just have to stop fighting each other long enough to survive.”

So what will the menace be? Aliens? Zombies? A low budget? We’ll keep an eye on things and have more on this 3-D horror-comedy as it comes!
