Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Invades the Suburbs in New DLC
There’s something so off-putting about the suburbs. The freshly mown grass, the flower beds, and oh yeah, zombies! The setting for some of David Lynch’s finest work is no longer hiding a dark secret; it has full-on Plants vs. Zombies warfare on display for all to see…
And it’s in the form of the new Suburbination DLC. Best of all, it’s free.
The game’s developers released a new trailer highlighting the features of the new chloroform vs. undead battle. Creative director Justin Wiebe explains the DLC’s map, entitled Crash Course, is “a dessert style suburbia on one side of the map and a golf course on the other side.” With a zombie horde crash landing right in the middle.
The Suburbination game mode will break down into teams battling for control of three areas of the map to attain a state of “suburbination.” Once the state is achieved, players will start earning a sizable amount of coins. Suburbination will also feature the fan-created Plasma Pea Shooter, a cosmic blue version of the game’s Pea Shooter character.
With each version of the game there must also be a new boss. Gamers who find themselves inside Suburbination will come face to morbid face with the master vampire, Baron Von Bats, a tricky Victorian vampire who utilizes dodge and warping techniques to vanquish any who oppose him. The DLC also features the Bling Pack, which offers shiny customization options to add to your horticultural heroes. Finally, the time of diamond mustaches has arrived.
No word has been given on a release date for the DLC, but Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 760 and is arriving on both PlayStation consoles August 19th.
