Visit the Orphanage on DVD in April
I was shocked and amazed upon visiting a local multiplex not long ago to see that The Orphanage (review) was playing. Then I traveled to another one, and again, it was listed with several screenings. Now, why couldn’t Diary of the Dead have gotten that same treatment so some of us didn’t have to drive 70 miles for utter disappointment? I’d have gladly driven 200 to see The Orphanage!
Anyhow, for those who missed the film’s theatrical run here in the States, you won’t have to wait too long to see it as the DVD release is right around the bend.
Fangoria got in the first scraps of info about The Orphanage‘s Stateside DVD release and cover art. Aside from the release date of April 22nd and a Blu-ray edition, the details are a bit thin. Anamorphic widescreen, various featurettes and a photo gallery surely can’t be all that’s going to be on this disc. A commentary with director Juan Antonio Bayona and producer Guillermo Del Toro maybe? Let’s all hope so.
