Lynch to helm The Bridge? With Animals on the way already (the trailer’s in Video Dread), we could only hope for some more Skipp & Spector adaptations to be in the works as well. But could we be lucky enough to get one that the one and only Joe Lynch would direct?

That’s the word from Craig Spector, who told the crowd at last weekend’s Chicago Weekend of Horrors that they’re in early talks for an adaptation of the nature-gets-revenge novel The Bridge to be helmed by the Wrong Turn 2 director, Fangoria reports today.

This could be a geek dream come true as after Light at the End, The Bridge is the one novel Skipp & Spector fans have been most anxious to see translated to the big screen. With Lynch at the helm we can expect as faithful an adaptation of possible, considering the man is a huge fan of the Splatterpunk kings’ works.

Spector also revealed that Animals is screening for distributors this spring and that a sequel is in the works already. Light at the End is still a possibility as well, as Spector just penned a new script that will be sent out to interested parties soon.

Keep it here for updates on these potentially badass horror flicks!
