Physics in the Dark
While you may have heard in the news that Atari is in financial trouble, its parent company isn’t, and while Alone in the Dark still carries the Atari brand, it’s being made by Eden Games and appears to be rolling along quite nicely and still set for release, albeit it without a firm date right now.
Don’t take my word for it though; a new trailer has just shown up on Game Trailers highlighting the much-touted physics and showcasing how large a part of the gameplay they’re going to make up. You’ll see things breaking, fire spreading, and all kinds of fun stuff, even if the trailer is pretty light on shocks and action (which the full game should have plenty of).
Still heading to PS3, 360 and PC, Alone in the Dark is set in and around Central Park in New York City, and given that I was just there this weekend past, I’m pretty comfortable saying that they’ve done a good job. Plus, Cloverfield convinced me that clambering around collapsing buildings bordering Central Park can be a lot of fun, so I’m looking forward to doing that even more.
Sure, it looks like it could use a bit more polish, but that inventory system is incredible and the game is really starting to look like it’s going to live up to some of the promises of the early hype. We’ll have more for you soon, but check out the new trailer below!
Tell us about the monsters you’ve seen in Central Park in the Dread Central forums!
