A Date for The Mist

The Drew Struzan art I really hope they use for the DVD of The MistWell, there’s neither art nor specs for it yet, but if Amazon is to be trusted (and why would they lie to us?), at least the DVD release for The Mist (review) has a date; March 25th, 2008 (pre-order it here).

We’ve heard some ramblings about a two-disc special edition for the Frank Darabont-helmed monster movie, but since it’s all just conjecture right now there’s no way to know for sure until we hear something official. I just hope they do at least a small bit on whichever artist created the Gunslinger painting featured at the very beginning of the film, which gave many a fan a geekgasm early on in the flick.

In case you “mist” it (oh, God I’m going to hell), The Mist tells of a group of people who become trapped in a supermarket when an evil mist rolls into their small town, full of monsters of all shapes and sizes. Things go from bad to really fucked up very quickly and strange allegiances are formed on both sides. Check out the trailer below and be sure to head into Video Dread when you’re done for a lot of other clips and behind-the-scenes features that will likely be showing up on the DVD!
