‘Hellcat’ Trailer Unleashes a Beast on Shudder this August
Shudder is set to let loose a wild beast when Hellcat arrives on the streamer this August, as you can see in the new trailer and poster below.
Lena (Dakota Gorman) wakes in a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound. She’s warned by the driver that they have one hour to get to a doctor, or she’ll succumb to an unimaginable fate. As the pain sets in and reality begins to fray, who should really be afraid?
Todd Terry, James Austin Johnson, Liz Atwater, Jordan Mullins, Elise Gilbert, and Janey Ivey also star.
Brock Bodell wrote and directed the film.
In her review out of Fantasia 2025, former Dread EIC Mary Beth McAndrews wrote that the film “takes the conventions and expectations of a monster movie and flips them on their head to craft a tense, single-location nightmare about a feral femme’s battle for bodily autonomy.”
Having seen it, I fully agree with MB. Hellcat sinks its claws in right from the get-go and never lets up. This one’s full of surprises, and well worth the trip.
