Gabriel Luna Signs onto ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2

Gabriel Luna (pictured above in The Last of Us) is the latest to join season 2 of Paramount+’s Dexter: Resurrection, reports Variety.
The outlet notes that Luna will play Ray Ballard, a serial killer operating under the name The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. He will go up against series lead and returning star Michael C. Hall, the titular Dexter.
Luna joins previously cast Krysten Ritter and Uma Thurman, both returning for Season 2. New cast members also include Brian Cox as The New York Ripper, Dan Stevens as The Five Borough Killer, and Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon, and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon.
The series hails from producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips.
A resurrection, so to speak, of the Dexter series that first began in 2006 and followed a man who’s a forensics specialist by day and killer of serial killers by night, Resurrection brought the character back after the series ended in 2013. Premiering last year on Paramount+, season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection takes place after Dexter was shot by his son. Upon waking from a coma, Dexter sets out for New York City, wanting to find his son and be the father he should’ve been.
At this time, there are no plot details for season 2.
Executive producers are Phillips, Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson.
Luna has appeared in multiple series of note, from True Detective to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Last of Us. He’s also featured in Terminator: Dark Fate.
