Kate Hudson And Ana De Armas to Star in Erotic Thriller ‘Palm Grove’

Thanks to The Housemaid, erotic thrillers seem to be getting a long-awaited new life, as Deadline reports that Kate Hudson (Glass Onion) and Ana De Armas (pictured above in Knock Knock) are set to star Palm Grove from Chernin Entertainment.
The story is “set in Miami’s most exclusive neighborhood, where a picture-perfect wife uncovers her husband’s double life – igniting a seductive power game that turns betrayal into the most intoxicating game of her life.”
Kornél Mundruczó is directing from a script by James Morosini.
Morosini will executive produce, with Peter Chernin, David Ready, and Brady Fujikawa producing on behalf of Chernin Entertainment.
The Housemaid was such a massive success, that I feel like I’ve been reporting on quite a few erotic thrillers as of late. The sub-genre was huge in the 90s, but seemed to have died out a bit over the last couple decades. Paul Feig’s film reminded studios these movies can still make boatloads of money, and they seem to be listening. It’s about time, too, especially following the obnoxious “no sex in film” movement pushed by certain groups. People fuck, it’s okay for movies to acknowledge this! It feels hollow and disingenuous to pretend otherwise.
Hudson and De Armas are also giving me similar vibes to Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney from Housemaid. Two big-time actresses representing two different generations, going up against one another in a mess of sexy thrills and chills.
Should be fun!
